  FTP - Configuring WS-FTP

Start WS-FTP running. You should see a panel like this:

To transfer files to and from our FTP server:
On loading WS_FTP you will have to create a site profile.
Click on New and enter a Profile Name. This can be anything you wish e.g. www.yourdomain.com.

Then enter the following settings:

  • The Host Name/Address is ftp.yourdomain.com.
  • The User ID is as provided.
  • The Password is as provided.

Make sure the box for Anonymous login is not ticked.
Make sure that the box for Save Pwd is ticked. (This does not need to be ticked, however it would mean typing in your password each time you connect to the server.)

Once these details are correct, click on OK to connect to the FTP site. You will then see a screen like this:

The left hand panel shows files on your PC, the right hand panel shows files on the Corpex server.

To upload files to your site, first select the "www" directory on the right hand panel, by double-clicking it.

In the left hand panel, change directory to where your web site files are stored.

To transfer files from your PC to the server, click the right facing arrow. To backup/copy files from the server to your PC, click the left facing arrow.

In the event of any problems, please do not hesitate to email support@corpex.com or phone 0845 050 1898 and ask for technical support.
